Dr Jianzheng Liu is an associate professor at the School of Public Affairs of Xiamen University. Before joining Xiamen University, he was a visiting researcher at the Department of Land Economy of Cambridge University and a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Urban Planning and Design, Faculty of Architecture of The University of Hong Kong. Dr Liu received his PhD degree at The University of Hong Kong in 2016. He also holds an MSc degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Peking University, and a BSc degree in Geographical Information Science at East China Normal University in Shanghai.
Dr Liu’s research mainly focuses on three strands of areas: (1) sustainable development of urban and regional areas; 2) environmental management; 3) computational methodologies and their use in urban and environmental issues, including GIS, Remote Sensing, machine learning, data mining, visualization and big data analytics.
